Lifeline’s origins go back to 2010 when a small group met to explore how we relate to money, giving and benevolence.

The idea blossomed into a non-profit society, The Gift of Wealth, created to share resources in our community in ways that support all of us. Sharing expertise and creativity as well as financial wealth.

Today, the vision has shifted to more of a “lifeline”. Helping people when they’ve exhausted all possibilities of helping themselves.

We sum it up this way:

Lifeline gathers and distributes community resources, so Oasis regulars can take part in meetings and seminars. Last-resort support for those in real financial hardship.

More of a warm leg-up than a hand-out, Lifeline helps those committed to becoming financially stable and to making the most of the opportunity of a lifeline.

The Vision of the organisation imagines a world where everyone embodies the truth they most deeply know. That’s the opportunity.

The way the organisation functions, and the values we hold to in our day to day operations are summed up in the wheel below.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  2. We ensure accountability to our donors by auditing our books and sharing our financial statements at our Annual General Meeting.
  3. We ensure a fair hearing for potential recipients by disclosing any conflicts of interest and recusing ourselves if necessary.
  4. We value the integrity of Board processes by not publicly disclosing internal discussions and by speaking with one voice once decisions are made.
  5. We value our fellow Board members through our mutual respect and active participation in the Board and committees.
