If attending livestreams and intensives with John is your highest priority and you’ve hit hard times, Lifeline is here to help.
Lifeline can help with funds and resources to get you back on your feet and to the meetings in the short term. In the longer term the goal is to help you change your lifestyle and do what it takes to become financially stable.
Funding comes from community members and as such is limited. So we invite you to carefully discern whether you’ve done all you can to balance your budget before asking for support.
We take care to assess each request on a case by case basis.
The help you could expect and eligibility guidelines are listed below.
GIFTING GUIDELINES
TYPE OF HELP

- Meeting costs and partial funding for seminars/intensives.
- Help with emergency immediate living expenses.


WHO CAN APPLY

Individuals who: –
- Prioritize meetings/seminars in their budgeting and attend regularly.
- Have unexpected expenses or loss of income, i.e. illness, accident, etc.
- Are taking practical steps to address their financial situation.
WHO MIGHT NOT BE ELIGIBLE

- Homeowners with a small or no mortgage.
- Individuals who have recently travelled overseas for reasons other than family emergencies.
- Newcomers to Edmonton without a practical, realistic long-term plan e.g., insufficient funds, no employment offer or plan to legally obtain work.
- Those who have received financial assistance from Lifeline, but are not taking steps to change their financial situation, i.e., actively looking for work, capitalizing assets, prioritizing meetings/seminars in their budgeting, etc.
Please note these are not hard and fast rules, but guidelines to help the Gifting Sub-Committee make decisions.

IF YOU HAVE ASSETS

We take these factors into account: –
- Age, fragility, health, disabilities, etc.
- Future earning ability
- Value of assets, liquid or fixed
- Situation is acute short or longer term crisis
- Level and length of time support is needed
- Whether government support is available, i.e., Employment Insurance, workers comp., etc.
- Whether family or other support is available
- Whether a small loan would be more appropriate.

HOW TO APPLY

PLEASE NOTE
- There is one application form:
– Section I. is for help to attend meetings
– Section II. Is for assistance with emergency expenses - All applications are completely confidential.
- The Board of Directors vote on each application.
- If you know someone who needs help, please ask them to apply.
Application Deadline Policy
We provide funding for community meetings and events as a last-resort support. To help us organize and allocate resources effectively, please follow these deadlines:
- Regular Weekend Meetings:
Apply ONE WEEK before the end of the current month for ALL regular weekend meetings taking place the FOLLOWNG CALENDAR MONTH. Regular weekend meetings are grouped monthly, meaning funding covers 60% (as of May 2025) of the total monthly cost for these meetings. - Special Events (Seminars, Intensives, and Long Weekends):
Applications must be submitted at least one week before each event.
